They await within the Darkness of your mind. Just for that one moment when you happen to make a small mistake. That is when they pounce in an attempt to drag you down with them, but it is not that simple. For them to get what they want you have to give in to them first. They will circle you like vultures and whisper vile things to your already weakened mind.
They will tell you that you are worthless. That you will just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again. These demons will tell you anything to bring you down. From the darkness they whisper that the small Light you can see is nothing but a lie. An illusion to force you to continue forward when really there is no reason to. All these and more they will tell you in an attempt to get you to submit to them.
At first you will tell yourself that they are wrong. If given a chance you could redeem yourself from the mistakes that you have made. That you indeed have worth in this world. Or you will simply choose to ignore them and continue about your day knowing that they can do nothing but whisper from within the Darkness.
Yet the demons will continue to persist as time passes. They will tell you anything to get you to take that last finite step over the edge. With each passing day their voices become louder as they begin to speak of darker things. How Hope is nothing more than a falsehood that people tell you about. It is simply something to hold you over until the next incident happens. That no matter what others say to you they do not truly understand what you are going through.
Whispers of just how simple it would be to end it all will echo through your mind at some point. They promise that you will never have to worry about anything ever again. You just have to take that last step and join them in oblivion…
They will say anything to get you to look away from that tiny Light. It lingers there within your mind along with the darkness. Its whispers are almost nothing when compared to the demons that taunt you. It promises you of better things. It reminds you of happier times. It will tell you that you are in a dark, bitter place for the moment, but things will indeed get better. All you have to do is endure for now and ignore the temptation of the demons. All it asks is for you to hold on. Nothing more.
There will be some days that the whisperers from the light are even stronger then the demons. It doesn’t care if you make mistakes or if you are victorious it simply encourages you and states that all that you do will have meaning to you one day. Just continue forward. The Darkness that you face now will one day help you face even tougher times in the future. You are being made into something stronger than you once were. All you have to to is endure. Just endure…

Yet the light is still there. It is always there promising a better tomorrow as long as you keep holding on. Sometimes the Light is harder to listen to then the Darkness. After all, the promise of nothingness is a much better offer then a continuous struggle. Never having to worry about anything ever again is oh so tempting…
The thing is… The Light is offering you a chance of tomorrow. As for the Demons, they are simply giving you an ending. Continuing forward or not is, of course, always your choice, but at least with the Light you have the chance of things getting better. With the demons… Well… You will never know what could have been…
